My girls

The other night we had spaghetti for dinner. I usually let Olivia feed herself, but this time I gave her a spoon and she was in heaven. Good thing they were getting a bath that night! While Olivia was making the biggest mess, Sophie was sitting in her highchair being so happy and smiley (which is a rare occasion). I seriously love these 2 girls more and more everyday. They are at such a fun age and they are starting to play with each other and it just melts my heart when I hear them giggling together. I can't believe they are already 14 months old!

Happy {very} Belated Halloween

A couple of months before Halloween I was trying to think of costumes I could dress the girls up in for Halloween. I didn't want 2 totally random costumes, I wanted them to be coordinating. All of the twin costumes I found were 2 peas in a pod, Thing 1 & Thing 2, etc. I really wasnt that excited about the ones I found so I asked one of my best friends, Kristen and she came up with the brilliant idea of dressing the girls up as Glinda & Elphaba from Wicked. I thought this was a genius idea but thought it would be to hard to pull off because in the show Elphaba's skin in painted green and I obviously wasn't going to paint Sophie's skin. :) I looked online and there were no baby Wicked costumes to be found. I kind of did my own version by making the girls each a tutu and a wand and then finding a little minature witches hat and a little princess crown. I thought that their costumes actually came out super cute!!

We took the girls to our ward trunk or treat and everyone LOVED their costumes. They obviously had no idea what was going on, but they were having fun just being outside in the nice weather and being surrounded by a bunch of kids.

Overall I would say this Halloween was a success, but I can totally see why a lot of moms hate this holiday! Now it is time to start thinking of next years costumes!

10/19/10 = 1 year

I cannot believe that our girls are 1 already! This year has gone by so fast. It makes me sad to think about them growing up but at the same time it is so much fun to see them grow. We had a little birthday party for them over the weekend and they got so spoiled. Sophie is still not eating much on her own, but we are practicing everyday with baby food and she seems to like it, so that is a good sign. Olivia on the other hand LOVES her food. We have started giving her pretty much all table food and letting her feed herself. Yes, she ends up with it everywhere, but she has fun doing it and I know I just have to let her do it on her own or else she will never learn. :) Sophie is still just army crawling but can now pull herself up to the couch and Olivia will be walking here shortly. She will stand for a few seconds on her own but when she realizes it she just sits down. Boy are they growing up fast!!

We are so thankful for our sweet little girls. We have waiting for a long time for them to be apart of our family and we just can't get enough of them!

Happy 1st birthday Olivia & Sophie!!! We love you SO much!!

ouch!

Olivia had her 1st real injury today. She fell down some steps at my moms house
and hit her face on the tile. Papa was babysitting her when it happened and he
said she only cried for about 20 seconds and then she was fine. It looks like
she is going to be one tough little girl. Her forhead is now totally bruised
and she will probably have a pretty big black eye.
It makes me so sad when I look at her because it looks like it hurts so bad,
but when I touch it she doesn't even flinch.
I guess this little injury is just preparing me for whats comin' in the future.

name that show

There is nothing better than 2 little girls wearing only their diapers. I love how you can totally tell their size difference when they only have their diapers on. Also, don't mind their crazy hair...they had just woke up from their naps. :)

9/19/10

I can't believe my girls are 11 months old! Time has gone by WAY to fast! Olivia is into everything and will walk along the furniture. She will stand by herself for just a couple of seconds and gets so excited. 1 of her front top teeth came in and the other 3 are coming in slowly but surley. It is so cute because she looks like a little jack o' lantern. :) Sophie is not quite crawling yet, but she tries really hard. She knows how to get around, but I'm sure it is not as fast as she would like. She still only has 2 bottom teeth, but I think she will get her top ones in here shortly. Her eating & feeding is still pretty much the same. She takes most of her feeds through her tube, but hopefully she will get better at it. She also goes to feeding therapy once a week and that has seemed to help alot. They both get so excited to see eachother. They are going to be the best of friends! :) We sure love our little girlies!

graduation

On Wed. Olivia graduated from physical therapy. Both girls have been going to treat their torticollis. Olivia has been doing so good that Ms. Jess (the best PT EVER) said that she didn't need to come anymore. Sophie on the other hand still needs to go, so we will still get to play with Ms. Jess every week. Sophie has come a LONG way from when we first started. We are so proud of both our girls for the improvements they have made!

7/19/10

My how my girls have grown!
Olivia is into EVERYTHING now.
She is army crawling everywhere and
finds any little thing to put in her mouth.
Sophie is still a little behind her sissy, but
she is doing good. She can pretty much sit
up by herself, but still needs the Boppy to catch
her when she falls.
It is so much fun to see their personalities develop
and watch them discover the world around them.
Both girls now have 2 bottom teeth, and boy do
they look cute when they smile their big toothy smiles!

Happy {late} 9 months girls!

Cali '10 cont...

So happy to be outside
Me and my girls
Livy & Soph being silly

Olivia is totally into the sand and Sophie as you can see could care less.
It was actually quite chilly out on the beach so we haven't been able to
put our suits on and enjoy the sun. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better
beach day.

Cali '10

The girls are loving the beach! This is their first time experiencing sand. Olivia wasn't to sure what to do with it so she would grab handfuls and then pour it all over her legs. :) Sophie loved to put her feet in the sand, but wasn't to sure about touching it with her hands. Sophie slept through the fireworks and Olivia was got so excited to see all of the pretty colors. We miss you daddy!!!

Happy (times 2)

Sophie is a pro at making us laugh. She started scrunching her nose when she smiles and it cracks us up every single time. By these pictures you would never know that she was put
under to have her MRI earlier in the day. She definitley has her moments, but she is getting
so much better at being a happier little peanut.
Love this girl!!

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day we had a little family bbq at my aunt's house. The water was still a little chilly but Olivia sure didn't mind! She was in heaven being in the water. It was still a little to cold for Sophie, so I took her in the hot tub which was pretty much the same temp. as her bath water and she was much happier. I can't wait until the water gets warmer so we can go swimming on all of my days off. :)

Happy

Olivia is one of the happiest babies I have ever seen. She LOVES to just sit and play with her toys and it is a bonus if Sophie joins her. Olivia gets so excited when Sophie is near her playing on the ground. She is such a sweet big (by 1 minute) sister. When she gets tired she will just suck her thumb and start to "sing" herself to sleep. It is the cutest song you will ever hear! :)
Oh how I love my chubby girl!

testing

Sophie had an MRI done today to make sure the eating part of her brain is developed. As soon as I handed her over to the nurse she started crying. It was so hard to sit outside the room hearing her cry. It took them longer than they thought to get her to sleep. She kept moving so they kept on having to give her more medication. After they were done they wheeled her to recovery and I just sat there and stared at her precious face. It breaks my heart to know that she has to go through this and there is nothing I can do to make it better. She was so sweet when she finally woke up. You could tell she was a little loopy because she would just lay there and smile and whatever you did to her didn't bug her (which is really unusual for her). We were finally given the ok to go home and take it easy. Since we have been home she has mostly just slept and will eat a little here and there. We pray that the results come back normal, but we also would like some answers as to why she hates eating.
Oh how I love my little sweet pea!

summa' time

Olivia & Sophie are going swimming for the 1st time tomorrow so we had to see if
their suits fit them. Sophie's is still to big & Olivia's is almost to small, imagine that! :)
These pictures were just too cute not to share.
Hope everyone has a fun & safe holiday weekend!!

Silly girls

Olivia is starting to realize that her voice can get really loud. She loves to play on the floor with her toys. She will lay there forever totally content.

Sophie started sucking on her tounge and it makes me laugh every time she does it. She makes us laugh all the time.

5/19/10

I can't believe it has been 7 months since our sweet girls were born.
Olivia still loves her food and can never get enough and is
the happiest laid back baby. Sophie is still our little peanut who would rather not eat.
She now has a feeding tube and it has been a life saver. We will bottle feed her what ever
she will eat and then give the rest of it through her tube.
At night we have her set up on a pump that feeds her slowly all night for 8 hours. We
can already see a difference in her weight which makes us so happy.
Happy 7 months girlies!! We love you!!

Crazy

Every morning Livy wakes up with the {awesomest} bed head. :)

Mug shot

Sophie had an evaluation for a Doc Band (helmet). These are the pictures they took of her. It looks like they are mug shots. Oh ya, she also got a feeding tube last week because she just wasn't eating enough. We can already tell that it is making a difference. She feels heavier and she is starting to look like she is actually getting the nutrients she needs. Hopefully our little peanut will plump up like her sissy.

the girlies

I'm sorry this blog has turned into Olivia & Sophie central, but I just can't help
myself. I take so many pictures of them during the day and I just
have to share them with all of you. :)
Hope you don't mind.

Well done...

{thou good and faithful servant}
I can't believe the time has come for my brother to return home from
serving the people in Australia. We have missed him so much and are
so excited to hear all of his stories and so excited for him to meet
Olivia & Sophie. I just know they are going to love him as much as we do!

Road Trip

Over the weekend we drove to Pima to go to my Great-Grandma's funeral. She lived a very long & wonderful life, she was a 103! Can you imagine living that long? I sure can't! Anyway, this trip was the girls' first road trip and I was a little nervous how Sophie was going to do. They both actually did pretty well. I sat in the back with them on the way there and back. It was so much fun to see all of my family that I haven't seen in a very long time. My dad was even able to come down! This was his first time seeing the girls, so I was so excited he was coming!
