Last week I went to get my non-stress test done (like I do every week) and I was having contractions every 2-5 minutes so the nurse called my doctor. Since my doctor was out of town they had me go over to OB Triage to get checked out just to make sure everything was ok. While I was in Triage I was still having a lot of contractions even after they gave me 2 shots of terbutaline so the nurse checked me and I was almost dialated to a 3. They went ahead and moved me to labor & delivery and put all of the monitors back on and since I was still contracting alot they started me on a very high dose of magnesium. All I have to say is that stuff is NOT fun to be on. By the morning I could barley even lift my arms because they felt like they weighed 10,000 pounds. The magnesium did slow my contractions so they lowered my dose and moved me to antepartum. After they moved me to antepartum I was only having about 1-2 contractions an hour, which is what I like to hear. :) My doctor was pleased with how the meds were working so after being in the hospital from Thursday - Saturday he finally gave us the ok to let me come home. I still have to take terbutaline as needed at home so hopefully that will keep me out of the hospital until we are ready to have these little girlies.
We are so thankful that through all of the medications and everything that has been going on the girls have been looking perfect and responding perfectly. Hopefully they will want to hold out for another week or so before they make their debut. I can say that I am SO ready to have the girls, but of course I want them to be healthy so I guess I can be uncomfortable for just a little bit longer. :)
Thank you again to everyone for your prayers and concerns! We really appreciate it!
Loves to all!!
